Wine production dates far back to 1300 at the foot of the Val Rosandra-Dolina Glinščice Natural Reserve, a few minutes from Trieste, where the Karst plateau reaches down to Istria to form the canyon millenium and where the Rosandra river flows.
The favorable position of the land, the variety of vines, the intrinsic energy of the soil and temperate climate, generates ageing wine. The Parovel family’s vineyard dating back to 1898 are typically Karst-Kras DOC: the sapid Vitovska, the aromatic Istrian Malvasia, the rare Glera, the sapid Vitovska, the sharp and dense-coloured Terrano wine, the authentic and structured Refosco d’Istria.
Tasting bora and rock, freshness and minerality, the strength of our famous north-east wind to the vineyards surrounding Val Rosandra.
After touring the fresh wine cellar, barriques and a short presentation of the Parovel family and their land, you will taste the typical sparkling wine Prosecco Visavi’ Barde, the Istrian Malvasia Pôje Barde, the cuvée of Refosco and Merlot Visavi’ Rosso Barde and the rare extravirgin oil of Trieste Blend 120 produced to celebrate the 120 years of the family and Ul’ka Premium Gourmet monocultivated DOP Tergeste Presidium Slow Food, served with refined snacks and a selection of Karst salami and cheeses.

Vitovska and Terrano are typical of this territory, but the Parovel family has long loved the Istrian Malvasia, promoted by their strong belief in this vineyard before it became popular.
In the 70’s, Papà Zoran, had this business and was among the first to market wine in bottles in Trieste, Val Rosandra. His goal was ensuring purity and quality using cement and steel for fermentation. The new generation refined production by introducing wood barrels.
In 1996, the Parovel family driven by their pioneer and innovative spirit established the first private olive-press in Trieste in the municipality of San Dorligo della Valle.
A tour down amidst the aromas of wine and wood, in the French and Slavonian oak barrels, below the level of the Rosandra river, where our fine wines age.
You will enjoy the Karst-Kras DOC wines, the Trieste extra virgin olive oils and a selection of salami and cheeses amidst the flavors and aromas of Val Rosandra, an intersection of the Istrian and Karst territory and the Continental and Mediterranean climates.
