There is an enchanting corner in Muggia which recounts how a great passion led to the creation of one of the largest private collections worldwide dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven and his myth. A great house museum which now comprises more than 11,000 items, organized in 12 different collections.

You have the chance to visit this fascinating jewel during Muggia’s Special Saturdays. The “Biblioteca Beethoveniana” is the Carrino family’s House Museum, exhibiting pictures, sculptures, applied arts, medals, documents, books, ex libris and many other forms of art and rarities.

The guided tour to the house museum is an unforgettable journey to discover the life, works and myth of the great composer from Bonn and more. You will be accompanied by the Carrino couple, fans of Beethoven, who will recount fascinating and peculiar stories, besides answering all your questions.

Coffee will also be served as enjoyed by the composer, to share the Beethoven atmosphere besides other peculiar delicacies. Join the tour to discover them!

Useful Information

Meeting point and tour departure at 10.30am at the Library’s entrance, where the entrance ticket is paid. Book your tour in advance. Request a private guided tour for a minimum of 10 people.

The Carrino couple will open the doors of their house museum. You will find out how their passion for the great composer of Bonn started and how they created this unique jewel over the years. This tour will bring you into the fascinating world of Beethoven and his myth through stories and unique objects.

You will discover the uniqueness of this private collection which has drawn the attention of experts worldwide over the years; consequently the Carrino family also set up exhibitions in Bonn at the Beethoven Haus and in Paris.
The house museum comprises more than 11,000 items, organized in 12 different collections, Ex libris, medals, stamps, books, magazines, discs of course and original scores, such as the first editions of the sonatas number 5 and 9 and of the solemn Mass. You will visit the collection located on the first floor and you will have the chance to touch some of the unique objects, including an original brick from the Beethoven house.
